Nope, it's not from Muskoka but we are asked all the time for this honey!
We are always looking for Ontario Buckwheat honey, but it is in short supply due to low yield last year. So until we see what the 2026 harvest brings, we have found some Alberta Buckwheat Honey that is beautifully dark, rich, malty, and aromatic honey.
The Buckwheat plant produces small, clustered white flowers on a multi-branched plant with heart-shaped leaves. It is said that honey bees can produce 150 lbs (68 kilos) of honey on just 1 acre of this super plant. Wow!
You'll like this type of honey if you like rich, molasses flavour. Great for baking and making granola.
